The Team

Charles and Chipps are the proud owners of Oxleaze Farm and have been trailblazers in the local organic farming community for a number of years. The barn itself is another example of their determination to diversify the farm and to keep a pocket of history in the Cotswolds.

Katie is the Founder and managing director of Oxleaze Barn who is currently on maternity leave. Born and bred at Oxleaze not many people truly understand the variety of goings on here like Katie, no day is the same – one day you’re chasing cows, the next you’re serving champagne. Katie’s favourite place is the stables – listening to the monotonous munch of hay or the low sigh of the horses in the stables.

What is your favourite time of year for a wedding at Oxleaze and why?

Oooh that’s tricky, each season has its distinct character… spring, when you first feel warmth in the sun and the garden and farm are so full of promise. But then again I think Oxleaze seems to glow in the autumn light – it’s a question I ask myself often throughout the year!

What do you think makes Oxleaze unique?

Oxleaze is a working family farm with a fantastic team who are all working towards the same goal. We strive to keep the spirit and soul of Oxleaze alive through the authenticity of the product and the integrity of the team.

What advice would you give to a newly wed couple?

1. Don’t get caught up in the whole wedding bonanza – stick to your ideas, however kooky and make sure you create a day that reflects you as a couple, that your friends and family will enjoy, within your budget. 2. Make sure you take a moment to soak it all up and take a mental snapshot

What do you particularly love about Oxleaze?

I love taking my lunch outside on a warm Spring or Summer’s day and finding a quiet corner – you could be in Tuscany in the barn gardens and watching the ducks by the willow tree is such a treat!

What is your favourite time of year for a wedding at Oxleaze Barn?

Spring – when everything is coming back to life, the daffodils are out and the colours in the garden are incredible!

Tell us a fun fact about you

I was actually the first Bride to hold a wedding reception at Oxleaze! I totally fell in love with it’s rustic charm and relaxed personal feel – we had the best day so love that I get to assist other couples with their special day as well.

Autumn, as on a nice day you can still have drinks in the garden, but after the sun goes down the outside firepit is such a lovely place to relax and gather around and the barn is super toasty and warm. Plus photos with all the Autumn colours look gorgeous!
